(a) 24 Bounces Road

Home of John and Margaret Gardner and family, Beth, Sarah and Matthew. After moving from the tower block flats in Ponders End, they lived in Bounces Road until c.1986 when they moved to Cheltenham.

(b) The Pop Shop

Site of the Pop Shop which was run by Brian, Pat, John and Mag Gardner c.1968.
The small (very) shop sold hippy drippy items, joss sticks, posters, magazines etc. Every Sunday we used the weeks takings to restock for the next week.

(c) The Green

The layout of Edmonton Green changed considerably during the period the Gardners lived in the area. The main road used to be New Road which ran over the low level railway line which no longer exists. The Granada Cinema was situated on New Road. The large roundabout road marked as Green was the site of the street market. The complex marked shopping centre where the market is now housed, did not exist.
The photo (from Enfield Libraries collection) shows the street market as it was in 1963
